The French company designed and built mechanical cellphone, a $300,000 device that combines a transparent cellphone with a delicate mechanical watch.

“We want to take the useful functions of the cell phone and try to re-think them, and re-create them in a mechanical way,” Celsius co-founder Alejandro Ricart explained. Thus the mechanical cellphone is believed to make much more sense than ordinary mobiles because it also doubles as a timepiece.
